Project Activities
ACTIVITY 1
Preliminary Studies and Scientific and Technological Surveillance: To identify related projects, scope and potential of the project; to survey the current directives and guidelines for technical service quality, environmental impact, energy efficiency and EcoDesign, applicable to the project; to perform technological surveillance; to evaluate the physical and mechanical performance of a reference PT; to analyse and define the pilot network of the demonstrator at EDP Distribuição.
ACTIVITY 2
Performance of the PT of the Future: Use Cases, Requirements, Architecture and Specifications: defining the use cases and the functional, operational, environmental and safety requirements; defining the functional architecture of the PT of the future; technically specifying the materials and construction systems of the PT enclosure; technically specifying the ventilation system and the respective intelligent control; technically specifying the actuators, detectors and sensors (MV and LV) and the respective integration in the equipment technical specification of the PT wireless communication network and the LV network; technical specification of the hardware of the modular controller of the PT of the future, of distributed architecture; technical specification of the control software of the PT of the future; technical specification of the MV/LV transformer, according to EcoDesign; technical specification of the voltage regulation and storage devices.
ACTIVITY 3
Development of the Solution: This activity includes the design, development and manufacture of the construction systems of the PT enclosure; the development of the ventilation system and its intelligent control, the development of actuators and sensors of LV electrical quantities, environmental and safety, wireless; the development of the MV fault detector; the development of the coupling of actuators, detectors and sensors in LV and MV equipment; the development of the hardware of the PT modular controller, of distributed architecture; the development of the PT control software of the future; the development of the MV/LV transformer, according to EcoDesign; the development of power electronic converters for the storage and voltage regulation systems.
ACTIVITY 4
Construction of Prototypes, Experimental Installation and Installation in the Pilot Network: preparing the experimental installation; building the PT of the future enclosure; building the prototypes of the actuators, detectors and sensors (MV, LV) and integrating them in the experimental installation; building the prototype of the PT modular controller, with the inclusion of the software components and integration in the experimental installation; building the prototypes for the LV network (QGBT and Distribution Cabinets) and integration in the experimental installation; building the prototypes of the MV/LV transformers and integration in the experimental facility; building the MV cells (switchgear) with adaptation for sensor coupling and integration in the experimental facility; building the prototype of the voltage regulator and integration in the experimental facility; building the prototype of the controller, the converter and the dashboard for the storage system and integration in the experimental facility; integrate all the prototypes (of the future PT and the LV network) in the pilot network demonstrator.
ACTIVITY 5
Tests and trials: carrying out tests of environmental conditions in the reference PT; carrying out tests of environmental conditions in the demonstrator PT; carrying out functional and performance tests of the PT controller and of the sensors with wireless technology; carrying out functional and performance tests of the PT's primary and secondary equipment and of the LV network; carrying out functional and performance tests of the regulation system; carrying out functional and performance tests of the storage system; carrying out systemic integration tests.
ACTIVITY 6
Promotion and Dissemination: prepare communication plan; disseminate pilot project; publish scientific papers in conferences and workshops; prepare plan for exploitation of results; demonstrate results; hold closing session - "NEXTSTEP" event.
